| RAAK-international English version |
The next call for RAAK-international is 1 December 2010.
RAAK- international is one of the programmes within the broader scheme of RAAK programmes. RAAK stands for “Regional Attention and Action for Knowledge circulation” and aims to improve knowledge exchange between Dutch SME’s, public sector organisations and universities of applied sciences, by creating sustainable knowledge networks. RAAK facilitates the development of collaboration to joint innovation activities and knowledge exchange and the intensifying of co-operation on R&D activities.
The RAAK scheme is managed by the Foundation Innovation Alliance (SIA - Stichting Innovatie Alliantie) with funding from the ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW).
Within RAAK programmes, subsidies can be awarded to innovation programmes that are aimed at the exchange and development of practice based knowledge. The programmes are executed by a consortium of one or more Dutch universities of applied sciences and one or more businesses and/or public organisations. They have to focus on innovation demands from SME’s and/or public professionals in the region.
The initiative for the development of consortia lies with the regional SME’s or public sector organisations. Universities of applied sciences can use their regular contacts and their own networks to determine the specific knowledge demands of these SME’s and/or public sector organisations. The universities should provide answers to these knowledge demands by conducting practice based research. This can be done - if needed - jointly with other knowledge institutes.
The specific aim of RAAK-international is to add international partners to the knowledge networks that are being created. Those international partners can be universities (of applied sciences), SME’s or other businesses, public organisations or other knowledge institutes. Choice of international partners depends on the (innovation oriented) questions the Dutch partners have.
